Primary Sjogren’s syndrome is an inflammatory autoimmune disorder characterized by infiltration of cells into the salivary and tear glands, eventually blocking flow of saliva and tears.  Secondary Sjogren’s includes the salivary and tear glands, and adds arthritis, lupus, or scleroderma.

As of 2015, the theories regarding the underlying causes of Sjogren's syndrome include:  Chronic inflammation, Cellular apoptosis (self-death of a cell), Autonomic nervous system dysfunction, Neurotransmitter abnormality, or Genetic predisposition.

Nrf2 activators stop chronic inflammation, significantly reduce cellular apoptosis (cell death), protect the cells of the nervous system, and regulate 3000 genes to produce many health benefits in the body.  Scientific studies and testimonials show that Nrf2 helps with arthritis
